Abortion
We believe that human life begins at conception and that the unborn child is a living human being. Abortion constitutes the unjustified, unexcused taking of unborn human life. Abortion is murder. We reject any teaching that abortions of pregnancies due to rape, incest, birth defects, gender selection, birth or population control, or the physical or mental well being of the mother are acceptable. Yet we desire to extend ministry to those who have had abortions in the past and want them to know the healing and restoring Love of Christ. (Job 3:16Or [why] was I not hidden like a stillborn child, Like infants who never saw light?
; Ps 51:5; Ps 139:14-16; Isa 44:24Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, And He who formed you from the womb: "I [am] the LORD, who makes all [things,] Who stretches out the heavens all alone, Who spreads abroad the earth by Myself;
; Isa 49:1-5 [1] "Listen, O coastlands, to Me, And take heed, you peoples from afar! The LORD has called Me from the womb; From the matrix of My mother He has made mention of My name.
[2] And He has made My mouth like a sharp sword; In the shadow of His hand He has hidden Me, And made Me a polished shaft; In His quiver He has hidden Me."
[3] "And He said to me, 'You [are] My servant, O Israel, In whom I will be glorified.'
[4] Then I said, 'I have labored in vain, I have spent my strength for nothing and in vain; Yet surely my just reward [is] with the LORD, And my work with my God.' "
[5] " And now the LORD says, Who formed Me from the womb [to be] His Servant, To bring Jacob back to Him, So that Israel is gathered to Him ( For I shall be glorious in the eyes of the LORD, And My God shall be My strength),
; Jer 1:5"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations."
; Jer 20:15-18 [15] Let the man [be] cursed Who brought news to my father, saying, "A male child has been born to you!" Making him very glad.
[16] And let that man be like the cities Which the LORD overthrew, and did not relent; Let him hear the cry in the morning And the shouting at noon,
[17] Because he did not kill me from the womb, That my mother might have been my grave, And her womb always enlarged [with me.]
[18] Why did I come forth from the womb to see labor and sorrow, That my days should be consumed with shame?
; Luke 1:44"For indeed, as soon as the voice of your greeting sounded in my ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.
