The acrostic PURIM

In the study tonight, Roberta had wanted to cover the acrostic PURIM for chapter 1 but we ran out of time.

Remember Beth mentioned this acrostic exercise will be somewhat subjective. At times someone else may have different points listed than you do. She is having us do this exercise to enhance the learning process and to help illustrate Purim's truest message: the providence of God . These are some of the things I listed for chapter one. Please comment and add additional ones for this chapter and continue throughout the study.

PURIM = P arties   U nknowns   R escues   I ronies   or   M oments

Re: The acrostic PURIM

Ironies - Some that I had written down this week were:

Esther ordering Mordecai to change his clothes when he was the father figure in her life and her role had been submitting to his authority.

Mordecai, the one who raised Esther and was the closest to her, now can't reach her.

One queen died in a sense not going to the king when bidden, this queen (Esther) will face death by going to the king when not bidden.

Staying out of the king's presence she faced death and the death of her people, going in the king's presence she faced death unless the king held out his golden scepter.

What new points have you put on your chart for, Parties, Unknowns, Rescues, Ironies or Moments?
