Dispensationalism
We believe that the Scriptures interpreted in their natural, literal sense reveal divinely determined dispensations or rules of life which define man’s responsibilities in successive ages. These dispensations are not ways of salvation, but rather are divinely ordered stewardships by which God directs man according to His purpose. Four of these dispensations—the promise, the law, the church, and the kingdom—are the subjects of detailed revelation in Scripture. (Gen:1:28Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.", 1 Cor:9:17For if I do this willingly, I have a reward; but if against my will, I have been entrusted with a stewardship., 2 Cor:3:9-18 [9] For if the ministry of condemnation [had] glory, the ministry of righteousness exceeds much more in glory.
[10] For even what was made glorious had no glory in this respect, because of the glory that excels.
[11] For if what is passing away [was] glorious, what remains [is] much more glorious.
[12] Therefore, since we have such hope, we use great boldness of speech --
[13] unlike Moses, [who] put a veil over his face so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the end of what was passing away.
[14] But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the [veil] is taken away in Christ.
[15] But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart.
[16] Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.
[17] Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord [is,] there [is] liberty.
[18] But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
, Gal:3:13-25 [13] Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed [is] everyone who hangs on a tree"),
[14] that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
[15] Brethren, I speak in the manner of men: Though [it is] only a man's covenant, yet [if it is] confirmed, no one annuls or adds to it.
[16] Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, "And to seeds," as of many, but as of one, "And to your Seed," who is Christ.
[17] And this I say, [that] the law, which was four hundred and thirty years later, cannot annul the covenant that was confirmed before by God in Christ, that it should make the promise of no effect.
[18] For if the inheritance [is] of the law, [it is] no longer of promise; but God gave [it] to Abraham by promise.
[19] What purpose then [does] the law [serve?] It was added because of transgressions, till the Seed should come to whom the promise was made; [and it was] appointed through angels by the hand of a mediator.
[20] Now a mediator does not [mediate] for one [only,] but God is one.
[21] [Is] the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law.
[22] But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
[23] But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed.
[24] Therefore the law was our tutor [to bring us] to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
[25] But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.
, Eph:1:10that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth -- in Him., Eph:3:2-10 [2] if indeed you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which was given to me for you,
[3] how that by revelation He made known to me the mystery (as I have briefly written already,
[4] by which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ),
[5] which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets:
[6] that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel,
[7] of which I became a minister according to the gift of the grace of God given to me by the effective working of His power.
[8] To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,
[9] and to make all see what [is] the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ;
[10] to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly [places,]
, Col:1:24-25 [24] I now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ, for the sake of His body, which is the church,
[25] of which I became a minister according to the stewardship from God which was given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God,
, Col:1:27To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory., Rev:20:2-6 [2] He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is [the] Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years;
[3] and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while.
[4] And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then [I saw] the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received [his] mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.
[5] But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This [is] the first resurrection.
[6] Blessed and holy [is] he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.
