Honduras

How about we start a thread to "stir up" some thoughts about Honduras.

Pastor and Leigh Wood have communicated their calling to go.  As I was praying for them in their "consideration stage" I had a thought within of "Why don't you go with them?".  So at an after-service Rap I asked Pastor Wood if he'd like some company on his "exploring the land" trip.  He said "Yeah....that'd be great".  So I applied for (and received) my passport.  I've never been out of the country other than crossing the border into Niagara Falls (I even ventured all the way to Toronto once).  I don't know why God is leading me to go but somehow I think I'll know when I get there....then again, maybe I won't!  I am excited about having a local body-member be sent from our fellowship.  I'm also excited about spending some quality time with Pastor Wood and Pastor Graziano on this trip...they are both seasoned in missions and this is a great discipleship opportunity.  So what are some of the things we can/should pray for?  We know that there is a feeding center there to feed the hungry and that there is a vision to start a Bible-Training center.  How can we think/dream with God in His work with the Honduran people?

What will be needed?

In praying this week, I couldn't help but think that musical worship will be a part of this training center so I prayed that God will begin preparing a doctrinally sound worship leader to lead students in worshipfull praises to the King.

Anybody else?

Re: Honduras

Amen Jason, a good worship leader would be awesome.

We can pray that the men who are leaders and Pastors in the churches we visit will catch the vision to grow together be trained to.

Re: Honduras

Honduras is a republic in Central America. It was formerly known as Spanish Honduras to differentiate it from British Honduras. The country is bordered to the west by Guatemala, to the southwest by El Salvador, to the southeast by Nicaragua, to the south by the Pacific Ocean at the Gulf of Fonseca, and to the north by the Gulf of Honduras, a large inlet of the Caribbean Sea. Its size is just over 112,000 km² with an estimated population of almost eight million. Its capital is Tegucigalpa. Honduras borders the Caribbean Sea on the north coast and the Pacific Ocean on the south through the Gulf of Fonseca. The climate varies from tropical in the lowlands to temperate in the mountains. The central and southern regions are relatively hotter and less humid than the northern coast.
