Love
We believe that we should demonstrate love for others, not only toward fellow believers, but also toward both those who are not believers and those who oppose us. We are to deal with those who oppose us graciously, gently, patiently, and humbly. God forbids the stirring up of strife, the taking of revenge, or the threat or the use of violence as a means of resolving personal conflict or obtaining personal justice. Although God commands us to abhor sinful actions, we are to love and pray for any person who engages in such sinful actions. (Lev 19:18'You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I [am] the LORD.
; Matt 5:44-48 [44] "But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,
[45] "that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.
[46] "For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?
[47] "And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more [than others?] Do not even the tax collectors do so?
[48] "Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

; Rom 12:9-10 [9] [Let] love [be] without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.
[10] [Be] kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another;
; Rom 12:17-21 [17] Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men.
[18] If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.
[19] Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but [rather] give place to wrath; for it is written, "Vengeance [is] Mine, I will repay," says the Lord.
[20] Therefore "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head."
[21] Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
; Rom 13:8-10 [8] Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.
[9] For the commandments, "You shall not commit adultery," "You shall not murder," "You shall not steal," "You shall not bear false witness," "You shall not covet," and if [there is] any other commandment, are [all] summed up in this saying, namely, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
[10] Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love [is] the fulfillment of the law.
; Phil 2:2-4; 2 Tim 2:24-26 [24] And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient,
[25] in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth,
[26] and [that] they may come to their senses [and escape] the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to [do] his will.
; Titus 3:2to speak evil of no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing all humility to all men.
