A few thoughts about the Judas betray controversy: In the Matt 27:1-10 account, it’s mentioned that Judas is: 1. Remorseful, 2. Returns the money 3. Throws it into the temple 4. Calls Christ…“innocent” and 5. Then, hangs himself. Why did Matthew mention all of this?

How about we start a thread to "stir up" some thoughts about Honduras.

"Once saved always saved" is a topic that many good Bible believing Christians disagree on. I was wondering what were the pro/con arguments and their implications on the Christian walk were.

The acrostic PURIM

In the study tonight, Roberta had wanted to cover the acrostic PURIM for chapter 1 but we ran out of time.

Remember Beth mentioned this acrostic exercise will be somewhat subjective. At times someone else may have different points listed than you do. She is having us do this exercise to enhance the learning process and to help illustrate Purim's truest message: the providence of God . These are some of the things I listed for chapter one. Please comment and add additional ones for this chapter and continue throughout the study. Read more

It's Tough Being a Woman

During Beth's intro, she mentioned she took a survey of women all ages, all backgrounds and beliefs and asked them this question. One of the most common answers was hormones. Also, the top three answers were submission (yielding), balance and again, hormones.

In the study the first point she wants us to consider is that it is tough being a woman in another woman's shadow .

A Contest for a Queen

This week's Principal Questions:

  1. What specific steps were proposed in verses 3-5 toward the selection of the new queen?
  2. What facts does Esther 2:5-7 tell about Mordecai and Esther?
  3. Why might Mordecai have wanted Esther's Judaism kept secret?
  4. What three responses from Xerxes led to Esther's queenship?
  5. What happened after Queen Esther gave Mordecai credit for exposing the plot?

Please comment on anything you'd like to share before we meet on Thursday at Debbie's home. Happy studying!

Welcome and Prayer Requests

Welcome to the Esther Bible study group! Thank you for going through the process to get here. Sometimes that can be very frustrating. My wireless Internet connection often drops which can cause all sorts of problems. I hope you find the interaction here a great addition to your study of the book of Esther. It is another way to share our portions in Christ and as Beth mentioned, another way to receive the whole Megillah!

History of the Jews in Ethiopa

Return of the Ethiopian Jews
Zeph 3:10 with Is 43:6

Last night, at the Monday night class, Pastor was teaching us the Validity of the bible through three aspects, Manuscript evidence, scientific support and through the proof of the prophecy in the bible. One point  that pastor brought up in prophetical truth was the return of the Ethiopian Jews to Israel.

How and when did Jews get to Ethiopia in the fist place?

This is from Charles Ryries' book  'A Survey of Bible Doctrine'. "My own definition of biblical inspiration is that it is God's superintendence of the human authors so that, using their own individual personalities, they composed and recorded without error His revelation to man in the words of the original autographs."

Posting new content on the web site is not hard, but there are a few things to keep in mind when doing so. Although the WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor makes formating your content similar to working in a word processor, there are some dissimilarities that need to be kept in mind.

Ok, here's the deal... If a group is set to private, it's invisible to everyone but the person who creates the group and the "super admin" (which would be me). The creater of the group is the "group admin" and can approve or deny membership requests.
